MEDWAY – Betty Lou Ouellette, 71, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014. She was born Feb. 21, 1942, in East Millinocket, the daughter of Warren and Cybil (Tracy) Curtis.
Betty enjoyed spending time at the family camp on South Twin Lake, boating, and making trips to the beach. Every summer, she and her husband, Louis, spent time in Old Orchard Beach, some years making multiple trips. When she was in better health, she was fond of travelling around the country, and had especially memorable trips to Las Vegas and Atlantic City. Over the years, she had several dogs who she loved, each of whom she spent many hours playing with. Spending time with family and friends was one of her most favorite activities.
Betty is survived by her husband of 55 years, Louis Ouellette of Medway; three children, Louis Ouellette Jr. and his fiancée, Jodi Healey, of Medway, Lori Ann Chambers and her husband, Jeff, of Smyrna Mills, and Lisa Marie Castonguay and her husband, John, of Benton; two nieces who she raised as her own, Deborah Harriman and her husband, Manfred, of Woodville, and Andrea Paoletti and her husband, Peter, of East Millinocket; ten grandchildren, Jason, Matthew, Nicholas, Jenny, Paige, Anna, David, Sean, Jeffrey, and Miranda; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by a grandson, Joey Ouellette.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Hospice Program at Community Health and Counseling Services for the loving care and attention extended to Betty over the past few months.
At Betty’s request, graveside services will be held in the springtime at Grindstone Road Cemetery, Medway.
