Bangor man accused of bringing drugs into jail

By Ryan McLaughlin, BDN Staff

BANGOR, Maine — A man police arrested on two warrants is now facing a felony charge after he allegedly snuck drugs into Penobscot County Jail after his arrest.

Dustin Dudley, 25, was walking on Cumberland Street on Friday night when Officer Taylor Bagley, who was familiar with Dudley, spotted him, according to Sgt. Cathy Rumsey.

The officer knew that Dudley had active warrants for his arrest, so he was stopped and taken into custody, the sergeant said.

Dudley denied having any drugs during a routine pat-down and was transported to Penobscot County Jail.

During processing, a correctional staff member located numerous hydrocodone pills in Dudley’s pockets that weren’t prescribed to him, Rumsey said.

That led police to charge him with possession of a Schedule W drug and trafficking in prison contraband.

Dudley remains at the jail.
