MILFORD – Kevin G. Cleary, 63, died peacefully Jan. 26, 2014, at a Bangor health care facility with family by his side. He was born Dec. 7, 1950, in Boston, a son of John Francis and Dorothy Agnes (Smith) Cleary.
Kevin proudly served his country with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and duck hunting. He took great pride in crafting custom fly rods, fly tying, creating duck calls, as well as other woodworking projects. His family was central to his life and he enjoyed supporting and coaching his sons in hockey and martial arts.
He is survived by his wife, Susanne Cleary; two sons, Balakw Cleary and his wife, Amanda, of Sarasota, Fla., and Kyle Cleary and his girlfriend, Michelle Manning, of Hampden; his mother, Dorothy Cleary of Massachusetts; five siblings, Maryellen Butare and her husband, Paul, of South Carolina, Janice Giovannucci and her husband, Vinnie, Jack Cleary and his wife, Terry, Dorothy “DeeDee” Diblasi and her companion, Ray Phillips, and Brian Cleary all of Massachusetts; aunt, Theresa Cleary of Flroida; close friends, Mike Clark, Gayland Hachey, and Aubrey Bryant; as well as many extended brothers; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father John; a brother, Mark Cleary; and aunts, Mary and Alice Cleary.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, where a funeral service will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial with military honors will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor. Immediately following the graveside services, all are invited to return to the funeral home for a light luncheon and continued fellowship.
