Armed man wearing ski mask robs store in Sanford, fires gun at clerk during escape

SANFORD, Maine — An armed man wearing a ski mask robbed a convenience store Saturday night at 88 High St. and fled on foot with money from the cash register, police said.

The clerk followed the suspect across High Street to the intersection of Harvard Street when the gunman turned toward the clerk and fired his gun, police said in a media release Sunday night.

The suspect was last seen entering a vehicle.
