Game notes: The Black Bears have 10 wins after Thursday’s 75-66 victory at UMass Lowell. UMaine faces second-place SBU with a chance to make a statement. The Bears rank third in scoring (65.7 ppg) and second in FG pct. (.440), but have allowed 67 ppg on 42 percent shooting. The Seawolves lead America East in FT percentage (.733) and get to the line more than any league team (23 attempts per contest). SBU, which has won four straight, routed Vermont 83-49 on Thursday. It excels on the boards and ranks first in offensive rebounds.

The Black Bears dropped a 74-62 decision Thursday to league newcomer UMass Lowell. Up next is AE frontrunner Stony Brook, which was 7-1 at home going into Friday’s game against Vermont. The Seawolves had won four straight, including Monday’s 81-62 win at UMBC. SBU is AE’s No. 2 scoring team (74.1 ppg) and is first in shooting (.459), FG pct. defense (.408) and rebounding margin (plus-6.6).
