Membership Committee: More membership growth for 2014

Membership in 2013 saw a coming together of our existing members, being more involved in our community, and the addition of 97 new members to the fold. Unfortunately, with the economic climate the way it is, we did see a significant number of businesses close or shave down their budgets to the bare bones to keep the doors open, which did include dropping their membership. .

Kate Grover celebrated her first year anniversary at the Chamber as their Director of Membership in April, 2013. She has been working closely with me and with our Chamber Committee to get her arms around our important mission of “promoting and advancing a vital, healthy business environment”. The committee has continued to be an integral part of our membership, fine tuning their support of our mission.

Again, this year, Fairpoint has graciously and generously sponsored our Membership Drive in 2013. The first 50 new members that join after November 15, 2013 will have a $100 credit on their account for their membership dues, all on Fairpoint’s tab. We want to thank Fairpoint and our local contact, Rich Bilodeau for their continued support of our Chamber and it’s members.

2014 will be a dynamic year for our Membership Committee. We will be stretching out into all 19 of our communities, sharing our common message to help businesses establish themselves and grow with the support of our chamber.
