Marion A. Anderson

NEW SWEDEN – Marion A. Anderson, 91, wife of the late Vaughn Anderson, died Jan. 24, 2014, in Caribou. She was born Jan. 3, 1923, in Worcester, Mass., the daughter of the late Archie and Angelina (Migneault) Varney.

Mrs. Anderson was a clerk at Chain Apparel as well as Millers in Caribou for many years. She was a member of the Caribou Assembly of God Church but often visited many other area churches on Sunday’s including the Gustaf Adolf Lutheran Church in New Sweden. Marion loved having yard sales in New Sweden, where she would take money she had made to purchase other items to resell at another yard sale. Then when she had made what she thought was enough money, she would donate it all to local churches.

Mrs. Anderson is survived by her children, Donna Anderson of Falmouth, Dennis Anderson and wife, Jean, of New Sweden, Diane Anderson of Alabama, and Debbie Schneider of Georgia; one brother, Bob Varney of Worcester, Mass.; her grandchildren, Chris Anderson, Joseph Sosnovik, Ian Schneider, Tyler and Kyle Anderson; and a stepgranddaughter, Chelsey Dodd; two great-grandchildren, Noah and Isaiah Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday, at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, from the Gustaf Adolf Lutheran Church with the Rev. Robert Smith, officiating. Interment will be at New Sweden Cemetery in the spring.
