FRANKLIN – Olga (Birok) Zuzchik passed away Jan. 17, 2014, at the age of 96. Olga was born Nov. 27, 1917, in New York, N.Y., the daughter of Andrew and Thekla (Zuk) Birok.
Olga was married to Joseph Zuzchik. She worked as a secretary for many years. In 1986, she retired in New Jersey as the Violations Clerks for Hazlet Twp. Police Department. She was known as “The Cookie Lady” for many years as she and her daughter, Pat baked 2000 plus Christmas cookies for gifts. She belonged to the Women’s Group of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Olga lived for 26 years at West Manor in Milbridge before going to Mountain Vista.
Olga is survived by her daughter, Pat Fletcher and husband, Frank, of Steuben; grandchildren, Michael Pucci of Brick, N.J., and Donna Beaman and husband, Bobby, of Wilson, N.C.; and great-grandchildren, Julianna and Andrew Pucci, and Ashley Beaman. She was predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Tessie Birok; husband, Joseph; son Joseph Jr.; sister, Helen Momchin and brother-in-law, Paul; granddaughter-in-law, Leslie Pucci; niece, Joanne (Momchin) Dick; and nephew, John Momchin.
The family is very grateful for all the care given to Mom by the Mountain Vista staff.
