Waterfront Concerts announced on Tuesday morning its country “megaticket” deal — a three-concert run of shows featuring megastars Brad Paisley, Lady Antebellum and Jason Aldean, set for June 15, Aug. 30 and Aug. 31, respectively. Ticket prices for the megaticket will range from $95-$233; individual ticket prices will be announced at a later date on waterfrontconcerts.com and Ticketmaster.com.
Those who have previously purchased a country megaticket at the Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion are eligible for a presale for megatickets starting at 10 a.m. Tuesday-Thursday, Jan. 21-23; they will receive a special presale password in an email. Machias Savings Bank members will also be able to buy presale megatickets starting 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, as part of Machias Savings’ partnership with the concert series; the code for the bank presale will be the first six digits of your debit or credit card.
This is the third year in a row that Waterfront Concerts has offered megatickets, in which those purchasing a megaticket are guaranteed the same seats at all three shows included in the megaticket program, including the general admission pit seating.
Brad Paisley, a country superstar and acclaimed guitarist and songwriter with 18 No. 1 country songs on the Billboard charts and nine studio albums, all of which have gone gold or platinum, is set to the hit the waterfront June 15. He has won three Grammys and countless ACM and CMA awards. His most recent album, “Wheelhouse,” came out in April 2013. Paisley will play with Randy Houser, Charlie Worshum and Leah Turner in Bangor.
Lady Antebellum has taken the stage in Bangor one time prior to their planned Aug. 30 appearance — in 2011 they performed to a sell-out crowd on the Waterfront. The trio shot to the top of the charts with the song “Need You Now” off their second album “American Honey,” which hit No. 1 in 2009. Dave Haywood, Hilary Scott and Charles Kelley have sold more than ten million albums, including their most recent, “Golden,” which came out in May 2013. Lady Antebellum will play with Billy Currington and Joe Nichols in Bangor.
Jason Aldean played on the Bangor Waterfront in 2012, to yet another sold-out crowd. His songs, like “My Kinda Party,” “The Only Way I Know” and “Dirt Road Anthem,” have consistently reached the top of the charts. His 2014 tour will take him to baseball stadiums and other venues across the country, as well as the Waterfront Pavilion on Aug. 31. Aldean will play with Florida Georgia Line and Tyler Farr in Bangor.
The three country shows join previously announced concerts including Celtic Woman on May 30, Dave Matthews Band on June 6 and Arcade Fire on Aug. 20.
