Game notes: UMaine looks for a bounce-back after a 83-46 drubbing Thursday by Vermont. The Black Bears have dropped three straight, allowing 80.7 ppg in that span. The Great Danes have lost two in a row, including Wednesday’s 70-66 OT setback at UMass Lowell. Defending champ Albany excels at the foul line (77 percent) and knows how to get there. Maine is the AE’s top scoring team at 74.8 ppg but is giving up a league-worst 86.2 points per contest.

Game notes: This game will be a measuring stick for the resurgent Black Bears, who have won three straight by an average of 24 points. The defending AE champion and first-place Great Danes have won four in a row. UMaine must slow an offense that is averaging an AE-high 71.8 ppg on 48 percent shooting. Key challenges are containing Co-Rookie of the Year Richards, the league’s top scorer and rebounder, and Craig in the paint, but Albany’s weapons, like Maine, are numerous.
