ARMONK, N.Y. – Mark H. Cohen, VP and longtime executive of Capital Cities/ABC, Inc., passed peacefully on Dec. 31, 2013, aged 81.
During his singular career in broadcasting spanning 38 seminal years he also served as VP of the IRTS and President for International NATAS. Retired, he passionately pursued golf and the Red Sox while devoting time to his beloved alma mater the University of Maine, receiving their highest honour, the Pine Tree Emblem Service Award for his efforts. A native of Lewiston, and longtime resident of Armonk, N.Y., Mr. Cohen received his BA from the University of Maine and his MS degree from Syracuse University after serving as a 1st Lt. in the U.S. Army from 1955-57.
He is survived by Jane, his loving wife of 51 years; son, Jon Cohen and his wife, Linda; daughters, Beth Cohen, Cathyanne Cockrill and her husband, Anthony; and grandchildren, Chase, Jake, and Maryjane. He is also survived by his brother, Irwin Cohen.
