BREWER, Maine — A man and woman were arrested Monday morning after a traffic stop turned up cocaine, police said.
The driver, Jaclyn Kane, 29, of Hancock, admitted to police she was in possession of drug paraphernalia and drugs, according to Brewer Deputy Chief Jason Moffitt.
Officer Levi Sewall had pulled the car over on South Main Street around 2:20 a.m., Moffitt said.
When Kane was searched, a substance that later tested positive for cocaine was found in her purse. Police also found a spoon, which is commonly used to cook drugs, the deputy chief said.
A passenger, Stephen Gray, 29, of Penobscot, was found to have drug paraphernalia and was also arrested, Moffitt said.
Kane was charged with possession of schedule W drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia while Gray was booked on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, Moffitt said.
Both have since been released from Penobscot County Jail.
