BANGOR, Maine — Rainy weather Tuesday night into Wednesday resulted in black ice on area roads, which has led to treacherous driving conditions and several accidents.

A State Police dispatcher said Wednesday morning police have responded to several accidents, but nothing too serious.

Among the accidents Wednesday morning was a truck rollover on 14th Street in Bangor, Bangor police Sgt. Cathy Rumsey said.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Valley Avenue and 14th Street extension shortly before 7 a.m., Rumsey said.

The driver, 22-year old Anthony Salma of Bangor, was headed toward 14th Street on Valley Avenue when he lost control on the icy road, Rumsey said.

Salma’s Dodge pickup slid across the road and struck a snowbank, causing the truck to flip. Salma was not injured.
