JONESPORT, Maine — Four teenage boys are facing charges in connection with two fires in Jonesport, the most recent of which occurred Saturday, police said.
Two boys, a 13-year old and 14-year old, were charged with arson, burglary and criminal mischief, a 14-year-old with two counts of burglary and a 16-year old with criminal trespass, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said.
The names of the suspects were not released because they are juveniles. All the boys are from Jonesport.
McCausland said the most recent blaze damaged a bait shed at an Ocean Avenue wharf on Saturday, and during that investigation, officials also learned of several small fires set inside a single-family, unoccupied house on Main Street.
The boys were all arrested and charged and released to their parents’ custody. They have a court date scheduled for March 4.
