ORRINGTON, Maine — Police have released the identity of a man injured in an accident in Orrington on Sunday.

The condition of David Ireland of Orrington was not immediately available Monday, Penobscot County Sheriff’s Deputy Roy Peary said. Ireland’s age was also unavailable.

Ireland was injured Sunday evening when his pickup truck crashed into a tree on Snows Corner Road in Orrington.

The crash occurred in the yard of Orrington firefighter Tim Kenney, who radioed the accident to dispatchers after he heard Ireland’s pickup truck slam into the tree.

Ireland was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.
