Shirley Diana

BREWER and BANGOR – Shirley Diana, 88, passed away peacefully Jan. 2, 2014, at her residence in Brewer. She was born April 29, 1925, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of Frank and Emily (Sellman) Tholl.

Shirley retired from a long career in film processing industry before moving to Maine. She had a great passion for sewing, crocheting, knitting and cooking. Her most favorite pastime was traveling the United States camping which is what brought her and her husband to Maine. Shirley was also a devoted member of St. John’s Catholic Church and Choir.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 67 years, Dante “Danny” Diana who died in 2010; and a son and daughter-in-law, Leonard and Nancy Diana. She is survived by a daughter, Emily Brandner and husband, Erik; and grandchildren, Ruth-Anne Walker and husband, John, Russell Callahan and wife, Connie, Wendy Schmittzeh and husband, Mark; and three great-grandchildren, John, Christi, and Taylor.
