HAMPDEN – Thomas W. Ellingwood, 47, or as he liked to say, “26 with 21 years experience,” passed away unexpectedly Jan. 6, 2014. Tom was born March 5, 1966, in Bangor, the son of Roger L. and Myrtle (Young) Ellingwood.
Tom lived in either Hampden or Winterport his entire life and was 1984 graduate of Hampden Academy. Tom worked many years as a parts salesman in the Bangor area and most recently worked for Bangor Truck and Trailer. In his spare time he loved to play horseshoes, enjoyed the outdoors, particularly time spent at “Camp No Where,” fishing, and could always be counted on by friends and family for help with any task, especially fixing their cars. Tom was loved by many and will be missed greatly.
Tom is survived by his loving children, Amanda Meek and husband, Adam, of Carmel, and Tyler Ellingwood of Old Town; his brother, Gary Ellingwood of Hampden; his grandchildren, Hailee, Ellieanna, Gabriel, and Abalynn Meek; his girlfriend, Jaime Hinson, as well as many cousins, and close friends too numerous to mention. Tom was predeceased by his parents; and his brother, Randall Ellingwood.
In keeping with Tom’s wishes, funeral services will be held later in the spring at a time to be announced. Arrangements entrusted to Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden.
