Monte Lee Somers

CANTON, Conn. – Monte Lee Somers passed from this life unexpectedly on Dec. 8, 2013. Born March 19, 1958, in Kansas City, Miss., he was the son of Montford Somers and Jacolyn Ford.

Monte was raised in Maine and graduated from Brewer High in 1976. He attended Eastern Maine Vocational Technical Institute and worked as a radiographer for over 20 years, the majority of his career at EMMC. Monte loved spending time on Phillips Lake, gardening, and enjoying nature. Monte loved to travel, meet new people, and made friends everywhere he went. He was always known for his contagious laugh, smile, and big heart full of compassion and love.

Monte is survived by his three children, Sean Somers of Holden, Sarah Somers of Bangor, and Katherine Stewart of Bucksport; one grandchild, Alison Timberlake of Bucksport; and husband, Donald Cook of Conn.

A service will be held for him 2-4 p.m. this Saturday, Jan. 11, at Holden Congressional Church. Any donations may be made to the church in his name.
