BANGOR, Maine — A local man was arrested last week after he was found slumped over in his vehicle near the Bangor Mall, police said.

The vehicle, allegedly driven by Jeff Green, 53, of Clifton, was stopped on top of a snowbank and fence near the Uno’s parking lot shortly before 3:30 a.m., Bangor police Sgt. Cathy Rumsey said.

When Officer Kristen Jacobs and Jamie Fanning arrived, Green was slumped over the steering wheel, and his vehicle was still in drive, Rumsey said.

The officers woke him, and Green exited the vehicle, displaying signs of intoxication, the sergeant said.

Green, however, refused to take field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for operating under the influence, Rumsey said. He refused an Intoxilyzer test at Penobscot County Jail.
