PORTSMOUTH, N.H. — A Saco man was arrested in the Granite State on New Year’s Eve on suspicion of stealing lottery tickets, police said.
Nicholas Glavin, 34, is facing charges of theft and providing a false name to police, Portsmouth police Sgt. Rich Webb said.
The sergeant said multiple convenience stores in the area had experienced lottery ticket thefts in late December.
On New Year’s Eve, a store clerk spotted a man she recognized as Glavin after surveillance images had been released to the public, Webb said.
Police were called, and Glavin was taken into custody. Webb said Glavin had allegedly stolen more than $400 in lottery tickets.
Glavin was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in New Hampshire.
