Report: Camp burns in Aurora

AURORA, Maine — Firefighters responded to a fire Wednesday night in the Hancock County town of Aurora, WFVX is reporting.

The station described the building as a vacant camp on the intersection of Route 179 and Giles Pond Road. Aurora Fire Chief Bill Cook told the station that fire hydrants were frozen because of the extreme cold, and that firefighters broke a hole in the ice in nearby Giles Pond so they could it as a water source.
