Allan Eugene Shorey

OSBORN – Allan Eugene Shorey, 50, died December 26, 2013, at an Ellsworth hospital. He was born in Bangor, September 9, 1963, the son of Lawrence E. and Nellie “Betty” (Jordan) Shorey.
Allan graduated from Brewer High School in 1981. In 1984 he married Lorna Marie Thompson. He worked for Union River Telephone Company for 20 years (1981-2001) and then worked for Maine Department of Transportation for 10 years (2002-2012). Allan loved hunting, camping and spending time at Camp Ruffit with his family and friends. He served as Fire Chief for the town of Osborn for 20 years, and also served Osborn as fire warden and selectman.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 30 years, Lorna of Osborn; mother, Betty of Osborn; sons, Ben and wife, Lauren, of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Brandon and girlfriend, Jeannie, of Milford; daughter, Crystal and boyfriend, David, of Clifton; sisters, Ellen Smith and husband, Hollis, of Birch Harbor, Lynn Warford and husband, Dan, of Hancock; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Lawrence; and both sets of grandparents. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
A time of fellowship will be held 3:00-6:00 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2014, at the Osborn Community Center, Route 179, Osborn.
