BREWER, Maine —Two people suffered minor injuries Friday night when they were crossing North Main Street and were struck by a Toyota pickup truck, according to police.

Brewer police received a report of a pedestrian accident about 7:16 p.m. near the Irving gas station on North Main Street not far from the State Street bridge to Bangor, Sgt. Nelson Feero said.

Brewer residents Nicole Viricel, 34, and John Baumgardner, 35, were taken by ambulance to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, Brewer Sgt. Jay Munson said Sunday.

The pickup truck was driven by Mark Viricel, 43, of Orrington, according to Munson. The truck had minor damage.

He said Sunday that no charges would be filed as a result of the accident.

The dark clothing the pedestrians were wearing might have been a factor in the accident, Feero said Friday night.
