BANGOR, Maine — Boston Red Sox catcher David Ross will be featured at a hot stove session at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at the Gracie Theater on the Husson University campus.

The event, sponsored by Bangor radio station 92.9 The Ticket, will begin with a meet-and-greet session at 6 p.m., followed by stories from Ross about his team’s World Series championship season. A question-and-answer session will also be included.

Ross, 36, has played for six different major league teams since 2002. He has a .237 career average with 88 home runs and 258 RBIs and has established a reputation as a strong defensive catcher who works well with the pitching staff.

He was Boston’s starting catcher for seven of its 11 postseason wins, including Game 6 of the World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals. He may take on a more prominent role this season as catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia left the Red Sox and joined the Florida Marlins.

The Red Sox also have signed catcher A.J. Pierzynski, who is best known for his eight seasons with the Chicago White Sox, including its 2005 World Series title.

Tickets to the hot stove session are $25 and are available at
