Linda S. Cox

EAST MACHIAS – Linda S. Cox passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013 after a brief illness. Linda was born Oct. 1, 1954, in Machias, to Robert Cale, Sr. and Janice Colbeth.

She graduated from MMHS in 1972. She was a wonderful partner, mother, grandmother and friend. Each year she looked forward to the Fryeburg Fair, which became an annual adventure with Bud, and always included a trip to Hollywood Slots. Linda also traveled to Florida with her dear friends, Alice Polley and Sherry Frazier. She had many wonderful memories with them. She also had a special lifelong friend in Nancy Morse of Portland. She also looked forward to the holidays when she would cook and deliver her goodies to many of her friends and family. This truly made her very happy. She also put her heart and soul into making her home with Bud. They enjoyed many wonderful years together. Linda will be sadly missed by all.

She is survived by her love and best friend, Wayne “Bud” Williamson of East Machias; son, Paul Cox, Jr. of Roque Bluffs; daughters, Andrea Atcherson of Machiasport, Jennifer King of East Machias; brother, Dennis Cale of Roque Bluffs; sister, Sharon Cale of Machias; sister-in-law, Elaine Cale of Whiting; very special grandchildren, Derek Frisco, Ryan and Hannah Atcherson, Chelsea and Katrina Oakes, and Zachary and Gavin Cox; and aunt, Flo Bishop of Machias. Linda is predeceased by her parents, Robert R Cale, Sr. and Janice (Colbeth) Cale and her brother, Robert R Cale, Jr.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at Bragdon Kelley Funeral Home, 220 Court St., Machias. A reception will be held following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Down East Hospice at 11 Hospital Drive, Machias, (207) 255-3356. Arrangements by Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Homes, Machias.
