LEBANON, Maine — Five people were taken to hospitals early Tuesday morning after a vehicle rolled over on Depot Road, according to officials.

Lebanon Rescue Chief Samantha Cole said none of the occupants in the 2010 Nissan Versa were wearing seatbelts.

The accident was reported at 1:45 a.m. when the driver, an 18-year old woman from Dover, N.H., left the roadway, regained control, then left the road again, rolled over several times and unearthed a large tree stump before the car came to rest on its roof.

The four passengers included two women, ages 18 and 19, and two men, ages 19 and 22, all from Sanford, according to Cole.

The driver suffered serious injuries and was transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland, and the four passengers were transported to Sanford’s Goodall Hospital, Cole said.

The impact of the crash caused the victims to be tossed around in the car, Cole said. The vehicle was demolished.
