ROCKLAND, Maine — A brass boat propeller 30 inches in diameter was among items reported taken Monday afternoon during a pair of burglaries at neighboring waterfront businesses.

The propeller was reported stolen Monday at about 3 p.m. from a locked building at Journey’s End Marina off Front Street in Rockland, according to Deputy Police Chief Wally Tower. The propeller was valued at more than $4,000.

At about the same time, the adjacent North End Shipyard reported that a locked building had been entered and two rolls of copper and 15 brass light fixtures were stolen. The value of the stolen items were estimated at $400.
