Kendrick W. Randall

HARRINGTON – Kendrick W. Randall, 70, of Harrington passed into the waiting arms of his Lord and Savior on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at home surrounded by his loving family. Kendrick was born May 1, 1943, in Portland, the son of the late Arlene (Randall) Bigelow of Harrington and George Graves of Lamoine. He spent all his life in Addison and Harrington.

He was raised by his grandparents, George and Lovina Randall, affectionately called Kankie. When he was ten, he moved to Harrington to live with his mother and stepfather, John Bigelow. He attended schools in both towns and graduated from Harrington High School in 1961. In 1965, he graduated from Washington State Teachers’ College, now UMM, with a B.S. Degree in Education, then went on to receive his Masters Degree from UMO in 1986. He began his teaching career at Milbridge Elementary School and taught in that one school for 33 years. After retiring in 1998, he began substituting in S.A.D. No. 37 for approximately ten years. He was a member of the MTA, NEA, Harrington Alumni Association, and the Down East Christian Church. He was an itinerant pastor in several churches in the area. Kendrick was a family man, consistently putting their needs before his own. His favorite hobby was ornithology, and he went on many birding expeditions throughout his life.

Kendrick is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Judith (Look) Randall of Harrington; two sons, Troy and his wife, Wendy, of Belgrade and Todd and his daughter, Makenzy, Kendrick’s very special granddaughter, of Stonington; two stepgrandchildren, Sierra and Montana Towers of Belgrade; his stepfather, John Bigelow of Harrington; three half sisters, Belinda Welch and her husband, Harold, of Lee, Kathy Bickford and her husband, William, of Harrington, and Marlene Geneseo of Augusta; two half brothers, Zenith Cote of Glenburn, and Sheldon Cote and his wife, Gwen, of Millinocket; one aunt, Ramona Golding of Harrington; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by both grandparents; both parents; his half brother, Luland Cote; three aunts, Julia Smith, Violet Redimarker, and Marilyn Will; one uncle, Arnold Randall and his wife, Bernice; and several cousins.

Visiting hours will be held 5-7 p.m. Tuesday evening, at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, Milbridge. Services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, at Harrington Baptist Church. Burial will be at Church Hill Cemetery, Addison, immediately following the service. Arrangements by Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Homes, Inc., Milbridge.
