NEWPORT, Maine — Three men face felony charges after a residential garage was burglarized in October, according to Newport police.

The garage of a Grove Street home was burglarized on Oct. 22, Newport police Cpl. David Wintle said Tuesday. A reported $2,000 worth of items were missing.

Items taken were mostly “jacks, wrenches and construction tools,” said Wintle.

Police were led to an Elm Street residence on Nov. 18, where police recovered many of the items.

Through further investigation, Wintle was able to arrest Casey Brown, 20, of Corinna on Friday.

On Monday, two Newport men were arrested: Gerald Geisinger, 28, and Jason Harvey, 35.

Brown and Geisinger were each charged with Class C burglary, while Harvey, who lives at the Elm Street residence, was charged with Class C possession of stolen property.

All three men were taken to Penobscot County Jail in Bangor but have since been released on bail.

Other items were recovered at the Elm Street residence, said Wintle, and more charges could be pending.

A Class C felony charge carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
