CORINNA and BANGOR – Virginia Emma Dyer, 88, died Dec. 2, 2013, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Sept. 22, 1925, in Framingham, Mass., a daughter of Jacob and Ruth (Gray) Bemis.
When she was one year old she moved with her family to Corinna. She graduated from Corinna Union Academy, class of 1944, and had been employed at Keyes Fiber. Virginia enjoyed gardening and quilting. She was a past member of Twilight Grange in Corinna.
She is survived by her sister, Evelyn Young of Bangor; a stepdaughter, Darlene Scott of Connecticut; a sister-in-law, Katherine “Kay” Nichols of Dexter; stepgrandchildren; nieces and nephews; and her former caregiver, Patricia Johnston of Pittsfield. She was predeceased by her husband, Earl; three brothers, Jacob Jr., Elmer, and Stanley Bemis; and a daughter, Patricia.
Graveside committal services will be held in the spring at Morses Corner Cemetery, Corinna. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna.
