WINTHROP, Maine — A local woman who was injured in an accident that killed her husband died at a Lewiston hospital on Monday, police said.

Patricia St. Laurent, 74, died of her injuries at Central Maine Medical Center, Winthrop Police Chief Joe Young said Tuesday.

Patricia’s husband, Richard, 80, died at the scene of Friday’s accident.

Richard St. Laurent was apparently trying to make a left-hand turn off Route 202 onto Royal Street when his van was rear-ended by a box truck driven by Jeffrey Ray, 44, of Scarborough, Young said.

Richard and Patricia St. Laurent were not wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident.

Young said the accident remains under investigation.
