WATERVILLE, Maine — A fight between a Waterville woman and a teenage girl sent the girl to the hospital and her assailant to jail, police said.

Linsey Soucy, 19, has had problems with the 15-year-old victim in the past, according to Waterville Deputy Chief Charles Rumsey.

On Wednesday night, the pair fought on Libby Court, Rumsey said, during which Soucy allegedly stabbed the teen in the forehead with a pocket knife.

Rumsey said the two had been communicating before the fight, and one witness said “bad blood” between the two led to the altercation.

By the time police had arrived at the scene, the victim had already been taken to a hospital, Rumsey said, and after meeting with the teen and Soucy, police took Soucy into custody.

Soucy was charged with aggravated assault, a Class B felony, and brought to Kennebec County Jail, Rumsey said. Her court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 10.
