OLD TOWN – Modeste Betty (Thibeault) Hamel, 80, passed away Nov. 11, 2013, at Brewer Rehab and Nursing Center. She was born Jan. 6, 1933, in Daigle, daughter of Jean Baptiste and Catherine (Dechaine) Thibeault.
She was predeceased by her husband, James P. Hamel of 57 years. She is survived by her two sons, John Hamel of Sedgwick, and Michael and his wife, Pamela Hamel, of Groton, N.H.; two grandchildren, Benjamin and his wife, Nikki Hamel, of Norwalk, Conn., and Rachelle Hamel of Boscowen, N.H. She is also survived by her brothers, Maurice Thibeault of Milford, Pete Thibeault of Old Town, Robert Thibeault of New Hampshire, and Bertrand Thibeault of Old Town; her sisters, Racheal Muszynski of Old Town, Jacqueline Martel of Milford, Irene Cronk of Old Town, and Norma Craft of Bangor; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brothers, Sylva, Richard, Carroll, and Nelson; and sister, Joan. She will also be fondly remembered by her friends. The Family thanks the staff at Brewer Rehab and Nursing Center for their loving care that Modeste received while there.
At her request there will be no viewing. Memorial services will be held at a later time and an announcement will be sent out before the memorial services are scheduled.
