Police: Ohio Street resident allegedly robbed at gunpoint, knew suspect

By Ryan McLaughlin, BDN Staff

BANGOR, Maine — Police continue to investigate a robbery that occurred at an Ohio Street residence Monday evening.

Nobody has been arrested in connection with the case, according to Bangor police Sgt. Cathy Rumsey.

Officers were called to the residence shortly after 7 p.m. when a tenant at an apartment reported he had been robbed, according to Rumsey.

The victim told police three suspects entered his residence demanding cash and that two of them brandished handguns, Rumsey said.

The sergeant added the victim and at least one of the suspects are familiar with each other and the robbery was not a random act.

“We do not feel there is a risk to the general public’s safety at this time,” Rumsey said.

The suspects fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash, Rumsey said.
