2,800 lose power in Piscataquis, Penobscot counties

BANGOR — About 2,800 Bangor Hydro customers lost power Tuesday morning, according to a release from the energy company.

Customers in towns including Enfield, Howland, Lowell, Passadumkeag and Greenbush lost power because of a problem at a substation, the release said.

The cause is under investigation, Bangor Hydro said, and crews are in the area working to restore service. According to Bangor Hydro’s website, restoration is expected by 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
