SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine — A Florida man was arrested early Saturday morning after police say they spotted him driving more than double the speed limit on the Veteran’s Memorial Bridge.
Lanny Griffin, 31, was heading toward Scarborough when he was clocked by Officer Chris Gosling, according to South Portland police Lt. Frank Clark.
Griffin is in the process of moving to Maine, but does not have a Maine license, Clark said. His Florida license had been permanently revoked due to at least four OUIs in that state. His driving rights had also been revoked in Alabama, Nebraska and Kentucky, Clark said.
Griffin, who Clark said was intoxicated, was placed under arrest and charged with OUI and operating with a revoked license, both felonies, criminal speeding and possession of marijuana.
Griffin was booked at the Cumberland County Jail.
