The Knox County Sheriff’s Office has charged Roy with negotiating a worthless instrument, three counts of theft and two counts of theft by unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. State police charged Roy with theft of a motor vehicle, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and violation of bail conditions relating to crimes in Waldo County.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office charged Roy with theft.

The first Camden theft occurred on Aug. 31 on Pearl Street and three more on Sept. 14 on Pearl, Spruce and Mill streets.

The converters were recovered at a scrapyard in Lisbon. The catalytic converters contain platinum.
