BELFAST, Maine — A Belfast man was arrested over the weekend after he allegedly threatened his girlfriend and punched the driver’s side window of her car as she tried to drive away from him.

Jonathon Littlefield, 33, reportedly threatened to punch his girlfriend Saturday afternoon at their home, and she got her young son and went outside to get in her car and leave, according to a report from the Belfast Police Department. However, Littlefield wanted to go with her and when she wouldn’t let him, he punched the window, breaking the rear-view mirror. He then started to kick the vehicle, frightening the child, according to the police report.

The woman reported the incident to police, and investigating officials charged Littlefield with domestic terrorizing and criminal mischief. He was taken to the Waldo County Jail, but has since been released after posting bail of $500.
