NH man indicted on exposure, lewdness charges

SOMERSWORTH, N.H. — A 51-year-old man was indicted on three counts of indecent exposure and lewdness and two counts of sexual assault from an incident this summer involving three teenage girls.

According to the indictments, David Hughes, 51, of 226 County Farm Road in Dover, purposely performed a sexual act in the presence of three 14-year-olds on Aug. 10.

Hughes was also indicted on two other counts of sexual assault on two of the teenage girls.

Hughes has two or more previous offenses under RSA 645:1 II. Paragraph II under the crime of the indecent exposure is a class B felony.

A person is guilty of this felony when a sexual act of penetration or contact on himself is performed in the presence of a child less than 16 years of age, or he sends any image of himself fornicating, exposing his genitals or performing any other act of gross lewdness to a child less than 16 years old or had previously committed any other act of gross lewdness where he would likely cause affront or alarm.
