ARUNDEL, Maine — A Sanford man died early Sunday morning after being ejected from a car after it struck a utility pole in Arundel, according to a report from Portland’s WGME 13.

According to the York County Sheriff’s Department, a car driven by Brian Roche, 31, of Old Orchard Beach failed to negotiate a curve and hit a utility pole around midnight on Long Cabin Road. Wires were dangling around the car when rescue crews arrived. Police said it appears Bobby Hem 26, of Sanford was not wearing his seat belt and was pronounced dead on the scene after being ejected from the car.
