AUGUSTA, Maine — A forfeiture involving the use of an ineligible player during a recent boys soccer match between Cony of Augusta and a Brewer has resulted in the revision of the final Eastern Maine Class A Heal points on the Maine Principals’ Association website.

The revised standings do not change the ranking order for the playoffs, according to an MPA press release issued Friday morning.

Cony originally defeated Brewer 2-1 on Oct. 18, but after the forfeiture Brewer was awarded a 1-0 victory, according to the MPA website.

The result leaves Cony with a 3-10-1 record good for 10th place in Eastern A, while Brewer finished 12th with a 4-10 record. Both teams were in the same positions before the forfeit was determined, and only the top nine teams in the division qualified for postseason play.
