BANGOR, Maine — A 16-year-old girl has been charged with assault in connection with a fight at Bangor High School earlier this week, according to police.

Bangor police Lt. Tim Reid said on Friday that the juvenile, whom he did not name, was summoned for assault on Tuesday, the day the fight occurred. The other student involved in the altercation was not charged.

A 49-second video of an altercation between two girls outside the cafeteria at Bangor High School was circulated on Facebook. The fight was broken up by a teacher.

On Thursday, Bangor High Principal Paul Butler said teachers followed proper procedure in breaking up the altercation.
