BANGOR, Maine — A 20-year old local man was arrested early Friday morning after employees at McDonald’s on Broadway figured he was intoxicated and called police.

Dillan McDougle, 20, had pulled off to the side of the parking lot around 2 a.m. after ordering his food via the drive-thru, according to Bangor police Sgt. Wade Betters.

Employees had suspected McDougle was under the influence of alcohol, so police were contacted, Betters said.

When Officer Kyle Pelkey asked to see McDougle’s license upon arriving on the scene, McDougle was apparently so intoxicated he searched in multiple places to find his ID, including inside a pack of gum and in his pockets multiple times, the sergeant said.

At one point, McDougle even spilled his hamburger all over his lap.

After sobriety tests, McDougle was arrested and charged with OUI and operating without a license, according to Betters. His blood alcohol level was more than twice Maine’s legal limit of 0.08.

McDougle was later released on bail from Penobscot County Jail.
