Rob Gronkowski is on the same page with the New England Patriots, according to his agent, despite recent reports to the contrary.

Gronkowski was cleared to practice but not yet given the green light to participate in a regular-season games. His forearm, operated on four times, is the issue.

“I don’t understand why this story has gotten so much traction,” agent Drew Rosenhaus told 560 AM. “There are dozens of players around the NFL who aren’t playing because they are injured and coming back from surgery. And in Rob’s case, this is really straight forward. Up to this point he hasn’t been cleared to play in a game. He has not been cleared by Dr. (James J.) Andrews, who is the supervising doctor.”

Gronkowski, who also had offseason back surgery, is not limited in practice. Multiple reports last week said Gronkowski’s unwillingness to play were causing a rift in the locker room. Tom Brady said Monday there was no issue with Gronkowski and other players and the team knows he’ll play “when he’s ready.”

Rosenhaus said the matter shouldn’t be complicated.

“There’s a huge difference between being cleared to practice and being cleared to play in a game,” Rosenhaus said. “I’ve had great dialogue with coach (Bill) Belichick and the Patriots’ medical staff, and Rob and his family. Everybody’s on the same page, except it’s gotten a lot of play in the media and all these unsubstantiated sources. … All I can tell you it’s really straight forward, when Rob is cleared, he’ll play.”
