SANFORD, Maine — State police are seeking a teenage boy in the wake of burglaries in Hollis, Maine, and Alton, N.H., while one has been arrested.

Michael Clapp, 18, of Sanford, is on the loose, according to Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland, while another 18-year-old from Sanford, Dylan Girard, was arrested Wednesday.

Both boys are believed to be suspects in an Alton, N.H., burglary on Sept. 26 in which a pickup truck, firearm and ATV were stolen, McCausland said. All items were later recovered in the Limington area while Girard was charged with burglary and receiving stolen property.

State police believe Clapp could be in possession of another stolen firearm from a home invasion on Sept. 20 in Hollis, McCausland said. Two other men, George Sproul and Harley Herman, were arrested in late September in connection with the Hollis burglary.

All three of the arrested suspects are at the York County Jail.

Clapp could be staying in Portland or Gray, and anyone who sees him is asked to call state police in Gray at 657-3030.
