Patrick ‘Joe’ Plourde

FORT KENT – Patrick “Joe” Plourde, 91, died Oct. 13, 2013, at a Fort Kent health care facility. He was born Jan. 11, 1922, in Fort Kent, the son of Levite and Isabelle ( Ouellette) Plourde.
He was a member of the U.S. Army during World War II. Patrick was employed with the Batchelder Company as an Aluminum Foundry Foreman for over 30 years, and a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his son, Robert Plourde and wife, Candyce, of Fort Kent; a daughter, Jacqueline Morse and husband, Kim, of Schenevus, N.Y.; three brothers, Claude Plourde of Portage Lake, Levite Plourde of Fort Kent, and Philip Plourde of Southington, Conn.; eight sisters, Juliette Belanger and Bernice Corriveau both of Terryville, Conn., Bernadette Caron of Bristol, Conn., Therese Voisine and Rella Dubois, both of Fort Kent, Lolita Collins of Eagle Lake, Patricia Hickey of East Hartford, Conn., and Ann Marie Whalen of Southington, Conn.; five grandchildren, Joseph and Jon Plourde, Meagan Oberholtzer, Renee Wallace, and Mark Demchak; six great-grandchildren, Caden and Avery Oberholtzer, Marissa Samantha and Brandon Wallace, and Jabrielle Demchak; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Joan Plourde; and two brothers-in-law, Tony Belanger and Roland Corriveau. He was predeceased by his wife, Eva (Bard) Plourde; and two brothers, Julien Plourde and Armand Plourde.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday Oct. 17, and 8 a.m. until time of service, Friday, at Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Committal services will follow in the parish cemetery. Those who wish may donate in his memory to the Visiting Nurse of Aroostook, 14 Access Highway, Caribou, ME 04736. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
