Three Rockland council candidates to debate Thursday night

ROCKLAND, Maine — The three candidates for a pair of seats to the Rockland City Council will meet Thursday night to answer questions from the public.

A debate organized by the Bangor Daily News is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. at the council chambers at Rockland City Hall, 270 Pleasant St.

Incumbent Councilor Larry Pritchett and challengers Louise MacLellan-Ruf and former Mayor Hal Perry have agreed to participate in the debate.

Following opening statements from each candidate, the public will be able to pose questions to the three. The public also can submit questions by email during the debate by sending them to sbetts@bangordailynews.com.

The debate will be aired live on government access channel 21.
