BELFAST, Maine — Police said a weekend burglary cost a local business about $40,000 in stolen tools and merchandise.

Police do not know exactly when the burglars broke into the WinsMor Garage Door Co. on Mill Lane, but Detective Sgt. Bryan Cunningham of the Belfast Police Department said Tuesday that police are asking for help from the public in the investigation.

“If anybody saw anything suspicious, we’d appreciate a call,” Cunningham said.
