MILO, Maine — Officials located an Oakland woman late Monday evening whose last contact with family members was on Thursday of last week. Carrie Commeau, 35, was found uninjured around 10:30 p.m. Monday.
A search effort planned for Tuesday morning has been called off. Commeau was reported missing to the Oakland Police Department on Friday, according to Charles Jackson, the missing woman’s brother-in-law.
Oakland police Sgt. David Savage said Monday that area police were asked to locate Commeau and conduct a welfare check.
Jackson said family members were concerned about Commeau’s well-being because she has known medical problems.
Commeau was believed to be in the Milo area because she has connections to the community, Bowie said Monday. Bowie said searchers from the Down East Emergency Medical Institute were using a fixed-wing aircraft, its Humvee and several scouting teams in the effort to locate Commeau.
