PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — A Presque Isle man who failed to turn himself in at the Aroostook County Jail as required on Oct. 10 was captured by a Presque Isle police officer after a vehicle pursuit over the weekend.

Officer Ryan Eagles arrested Keith Tingley Jr. on Saturday evening, PIPD Sgt. Eric Erickson said Monday.

According to police, Tingley was supposed to have reported to the jail in Houlton but did not show up as planned. Information about his sentence was not available Monday. Because of this, Tingley became wanted for escape.

Eagles located Tingley after a brief vehicle chase on Dragon Drive. The vehicle ultimately stopped and Tingley fled on foot and was captured a short distance away.

He was arrested for escape and summoned for attaching false plates, eluding an officer and criminal simulation, which is attaching a registration sticker from another legally registered vehicle to the illegal plate, along with a variety of other traffic related offenses, according to police.

Another individual in the vehicle at the time, Taylor Lovely, 26, of Mapleton, also was issued a summons on unrelated charges.
